Video: Assembling of the Cray XC30 “Piz Daint” at CSCS
The Cray XC30 has arrived at CSCS on December 5th, 2012. After just a few days of assembly it has found its place in the new CSCS machine room, complementing the already existing systems. It has been baptized “Piz Daint” after the prominent peak of the Swiss part of the Ortler Alps in Grisons.
With its 12 cabinets Piz Daint is the largest Cray XC30 that has been delivered and assembled so far. This is the new generation Cray supercomputer based on Intel processors.
In the movie you may follow all installation steps from the delivery of the hardware by large trucks up to the assembling in the brand new machine room at CSCS.
