Submissions for ISC Research Papers, Tutorials Now Being Accepted
The 2013 International Supercomputing Conference Research Paper and Tutorials Committees are now accepting abstracts and tutorial proposals for ISC’13 in Europe. The ISC’13 Call for Papers is supported by the IEEE Germany Section.
The deadline for the research paper abstract submission is Sunday, January 27, 2013 and the tutorial proposals are to be submitted by Sunday, February 10, 2013. All abstracts and proposals need to be submitted via the EasyChair conference system. An early submission of abstracts is required so that papers can be distributed according to the expertise of individual committee member. Please refer to the ISC’13 website for full submission guidelines or contact the program coordinator, Ms. Heike Walther at heike.walther@isc-events.com.
The ISC’13 conference and exhibition, the 28th in the ISC series, will take place June 16 – 20, 2013, and is expected to draw more than 2,500 academic and industry attendees and 170 exhibitors representing high-performance computing, networking and storage to the fascinating and historic city of Leipzig, Germany.
High-quality research papers reporting original work in theoretical, experimental and industry research and development are sought in the following areas:
- Architectures (multicore/manycore systems, heterogeneous systems, network technology and programming models)
- Algorithms and Analysis (scalability on future architectures, performance evaluation and tuning)
- Large-Scale Simulations (workflow management, data analysis and visualization, coupled simulations and industrial simulations)
- Future Trends (Exascale HPC, HPC in the Cloud)
- Storage and Data (file systems and tape libraries, data intensive applications and databases)
- Software Engineering in HPC (application of methods, surveys)
- Supercomputing Facility (batch job management, job mix and system utilization and monitoring and administration tools)
- Scalable Applications: 50k+ (ISC Research thrust). The Research Paper committee encourages scientists to submit parallelization approaches that lead to scalable applications on more than 50,000 (CPU or GPU) cores
Submissions on other innovative aspects of high-performance computing are also welcome.
ISC Awards Program
Two awards will be given to the most outstanding papers. The German Gauss Center for Supercomputing – a cooperation of the German national supercomputing centers at Garching, Juelich and Stuttgart – sponsors the Gauss Award consisting of 3,000 Euro, which will be assigned to the most outstanding paper in the field of scalable supercomputing.
The second award is the PRACE (the Partnership for Advanced Computing) Award, which will be awarded to the best paper submitted to the ISC Research Paper Session and the PRACE Scientific Conference in the following areas: a breakthrough in science achieved through high performance computing; an algorithms or implementations that achieves a significant improvements in scalability or performance; and a novel approach to performance evaluation on massively parallel architecture.
ISC’13 Tutorials
The ISC’13 Tutorials are intended as educational events that cover all areas as listed on the Call for Papers. However, ISC encourages tutorials of broad applicability rather than those focusing solely on the research in a limited domain or a particular group.
We also encourage presenters to incorporate hands-on sessions where it is appropriate and provide the attendees with a comprehensive introduction to the state-of-the-art in the topic before moving on to cover specific approaches in more depth.
