IT Security Analyst (f/m/d)

The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) is operated by ETH Zürich and is located in Lugano, in the south of Switzerland. CSCS develops and provides the key supercomputing capabilities required to solve important problems to science and/or society. CSCS’s resources are open to academia, and are available as well to users from industry and the business sector.

IT security aspects are becoming essential for the centre in the context of convergence of cloud and High-Performance Computing (HPC).

Job description

As a Security Analyst, you will ensure that our networks, systems, data and users are safe from constantly emerging threats. You work in close collaboration with the Security Officer developing and running the technical strategy to proactively address cyber security requirements. You are responsible for monitoring security information, identifying threats, and implementing intrusion detection capabilities.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be the design and development of infrastructure to protect CSCS assets. You will perform technical reviews and assessments as in-depth analysis of log files, systems, and network traffic. To keep pace with the growth of the centre you will create automated processes to support and to optimize the workflows.

Your profile

You are expected to have a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with a specialization in IT security or equivalent professional experience. As an ideal candidate, you possess a combination of a cross disciplinary background in software development, risk management and application or network security.

Beside your motivation to accept new challenges and to work independently in a problem-solving way within a vibrant environment, you are characterised by good communication skills. The ideal candidate is a team player and feels comfortable working in an international environment. Excellent command of written and spoken English (official working language) is a must. Knowledge of Italian, German and/or French is considered an advantage.

The position is permanent (with an initial probation period of three months). Starting date is as soon as possible. You will benefit from a competitive salary based on experience and performance.
