About
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV: «Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois ») is one of the five university hospitals in Switzerland. With its 16 clinical and medico- technical departments and their numerous services, the CHUV is renowned for its academic achievements in health care, research, and teaching. It provides state of the art general and specialist medical care thanks to a dedicated team of leading consultants of highest international standing. The CHUV is also a well known center of medical education and research in collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Together, these institutions form a vast campus in the Lake Geneva region.
The CHUV counts more than 11 000 collaborators from 107 different nationalities. More than 50 000 patients/year are hospitalized and nearly 3400 daily patients are welcomed for management in an outpatient setting.
The CHUV provides a wide range of health services across a broad range of specialties. Cardio-vascular issues together with oncology, neuroscience, immunology, genomic medicine, nutrition and metabolism have been identified among a number of priority areas in which the CHUV is actively acting to promote health, teaching and research.
